| Anyone have any ideas/tips as to the cause to why my tippmann 98 custom pro may be double firing? I rebuilt it because it kept double firing all weekened then it kept misfiring every other shot also sometimes the bolt wouldnt recock on its own. I test fired it today and it seems it may be worse even triple firing from a single trigger pull in succession on semi auto. Im not sure if it maybe my bolt isnt catching or what. | |

| there is a setting with the e trigger that fires upon every trigger pull and then refires upon every trigger release, so one squeeze of the trigger will fire two shots, this setting may have been turned on. | |

| I didn't think of this, you are right. However I dont know if this is the case or not. I know the gun is on semi setting in the e grip but it does seem like it only does it in the 3rd or 4th shot in succession. Hmm it didnt seem as if it were an electronic response but more of an mechanism response. I guess ill have to do more testing but I do know double firing is a common problem with the tippmann 98 whether it be the bolt not catching on the trigger or a multitude of other problems that can cause this. These guns can be very complicated with act and e trigger etc throw in a cyclone and any of these systems not working in unison might cause it to load or fire prematurely. | |

| Rabbitt...my A5 was jacked up and I ended up stripping it and oiling it up real good. My Egrip was catching so I sanded it and lubbed that too. If you can't get it working...the guys at Tiki's are awesome. They could probably steer you in the right direction. | |

| If you mean it is firing 2 paintballs at a time you need to check your ball detents. | |

| Ball detent is a little rubber piece that keeps the ball from rolling out the barrel when its loaded. You can see it through the hole in the Cyclone where the ball loads. | |

| Yeah i checked that , its fine. Its not that that its firing 2 balls per bolt but more that the bolt keeps firing. I think its more likely the settings in my e grip got changed during mafia wars. | |

| That could be it...when did it start happening? Was it after the rain...could water have gotten in there? | |

| No the double fire started sat, sunday in the rain it kept firing every other trigger pull and it stopped recocking so i kept having to pull the bolt back. But it isnt doing that anymore since i rebuilt it. Its just multi firing. | |

| Make sure all your o-rings are in good shape no small cuts or tears. If so replace them and re-oil. If air slips through after you fire the bold will fire again because the air is getting through. Also make sure you realigned the hammer corectly, soinds like when you fire air is building up in the chamber again instead of sealing off wich might cause a double fire. | |

| First when I get home im gonna try and reset the egrip to the factory settings, the debounce may be off. If that doesnt work ill know its mechanical and not the egrip. | |

| I think I got the kinks worked out of my gun. I reset the egrip that didnt work so i rebuilt my gun again to make sure it was right and after it only double fired once then it was fine. I just noticed the tip of my barrel screws off, I wonder if I could screw an apex on it or if its even worth it instead of getting the lapco barrel. | |
