| Welcome to the forum Rico, glad you came out yesterday. As for your question YES all tippmann 98 Platinums come with the ACT technology. If your planning on purchasing, may i suggest using the forum link to RAP4's site as this will give the paintball team credit or cash back on your order. You can also recieve a discount on your order by using the Code TTPL in the checkout on RAP4's site.
click the Rap4 icon to access this, then click gun markers .68 cal and tippman 98 models. They have the same package you posted in your link but it is only 149.99 plus by using the code you get an additional 10% off so your order would be 135.00 plus shipping or you could look at it as free shipping. It does ship from Cali though so it would take about a week to get it. Hope this helps. | |

| @Rain: That sucks I had my whole computer fried about a year and a half ago. Now that you mention it the storm did knock my comp off last night and I didnt bother to see if it was alright. I guess ill see when I get home. @Maniac: Also I believe Terence said he had an unpleasant experience ordering from zephyrpaintball.com | |

| Hey Rico,
This is Boris. To answer your question on act, the NEWER 98s come with ACT. Some of the older ones do not. So if you are buying new, you will get act. If you are looking to buy used, you want to make sure you are getting act.
If you are going to buy a 98, there are a few things you will want to look for.... ACT (anti chop technology) E trigger, e grip or response trigger - this will give you that rapid fire you will need Stock barrel sux. You will need a new one. This is where play style will determine what you purchase. Let us know what you want out of the marker and you will get some good recs.
ps the gun you are looking at is basic but will hold it's own. It does not have a rapid fire mode or an electric hopper, it has co2 and a stock barrel. For a starter gun like I said, you will be fine but you will most likely start looking for upgrades if you start playing more.

| WHAT UP RICO....WELCOME!!!!! Great to see you out there Sunday. Looking forward to playing with you again. Getting your first gun is exciting....but take you time. Do a little research and kinda get a feel for you style of play and what you want you gun to do for you. I got my Tippmann A5 over 3 years ago...and I'm STILL not looking to upgrade. 98 is an excellent starting point and will not dissapoint. Any questions man....fire away...we are all here to help. | |

| Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback! I think I'm gonna go with the Tippmann with the response trigger. I want something reliable, especially since I don't know much about the guns yet. I think my style is less tactical and more in your face, but we'll see. I'll find out for sure when I get this gun and go out with you guys again. What's the difference between the response and electric trigger anyway? Also, is Sunday always the day you guys play? | |

| The response trigger is a mechanical pneumatic that pushes the trigger forward to ready it for re-fire, so essentially you can press the trigger and the response will kick it back to your finger which if held will cause to to repeat. The electronic trigger performs the action of hitting the the bolt release automatically "firing the gun" for you electronically depending on the fire mode: auto response, full auto, 3rd burst, or turbo. The response trigger can fire 10-15bps and the e trigger can fire 15+ bps depending the dwell, debounce , and rof settings (25bps+ with WAS board) and depending how fast you can feed it with an electric hopper or cyclone system. | |

| I left out semi for the e trigger mode because its basically the same as any semi. But I only bring it up because with that said it is also A LOT more sensitive because it only requires an electrical contact of the metal and sometimes barely even requiring a trigger pull. I have fired accidentally on more times that I would like to admit especially while running while my finger in the trigger guard. Also I almost shot a team mate in the head at mafia wars while huddled in a bunker because its so sensitive. | |

| Thanks Rabbitt! That explains it well for me. I think I'm picking the right one for now. I saw some nice pacakges on craig's list for good prices, but I think I want a clean new one for my 1st gun. I'll definitely let y'all know when I get mine! BTW you're healing up pretty good! It was pretty bad that Sunday! @Headshot - Vital tactics? Do you guys have a manual or something? This jungle style is interesting, I'd like to know more about it next time I get out there with you guys. | |
